This is the 1st SOS ART Youth art exhibit organized by SOS ART devoted entirely to the artistic voice of our children and youth for Peace and Justice. In past SOS ART editions their voice was part of the larger SOS ART exhibits catered primarily for adult artists. It was felt that it would be good and advantageous to provide them their own space and venue for expression and thus facilitate their interactions, collaboration and growth.
Being the 1st such edition and occurring right at the tail of the Covid Pandemic affected participation. Children and youth from only eight schools and one after school program took part. They contributed, however, close to 200 artworks accompanied by powerful statements and messages, all here included. It is expected that this exhibit will grow in future years, that it will gain larger participation, and become an annual awaited event encouraging our children and youth to use their voice for Peace and Justice.
Many thanks to all the participating students, to their respective art teachers, and especially to Jamie Schorsch who coordinated the exhibit and event and was instrumental in providing the facility of Oak Hills High School for its location.
