“The work is done to show how women and men deal with societal standards, specifically being one’s body image. I explore the different types of body types one can have while creating a broken glass look to portray the pieces of the body making up a torso while demonstrating the broken state people are left in when judging themselves or being judged. The color also has symbolism of showing the shame, disgust, and sadness you feel as you look into the mirror and see a body you don’t like because society doesn’t deem it “perfect”.”
