“We live through shooting after shooting with no effective preventative measures. By now “Thoughts and Prayers” is no more than a verbal brush-off of an exceptionally American story, a story that repeats over and over. The Supreme court exploited the tortured language of the 2nd Amendment to establish individual rights to gun ownership, independent of service in a state militia. Now we have a loud clamor for guns, more guns than “Thoughts and Prayers” could ever overcome.”
