Amber Nicolle is the SOS ART artist in residence for the Fall 2026 cycle.. The theme of her residency is Human Rights Freedom of Expression. It will culminate in a multidisciplinary word and art storytelling performance exploring the power of personal voice, lived experiences, and creative expression as tools for healing, advocacy, and social change. Amber will conduct two workshops respectively in Cincinnati and Hamilton. They will address Universal Human Rights and Freedom of Expression and will connect these rights to participants’ everyday life and lived experiences. In response the participants will write spoken words and create visual images, connecting them with reflective statements. The final performance including spoken words, visual images, statements and music created by both Amber and the workshops participants will also be offered in both Cincinnati and Hamilton.
