“In honor and memory of those who have lost their lives fighting for peace.”
ARTIST BIO: Ariel Cooper is an artist driven by the idea of cathartic creation. Their work investigates the connection between body and self within the context of their personal journey with gender. They use a variety of techniques including intaglio, woodcut, and painting, both oil and watercolor, in their creative process. In this process, the act of creation serves as a therapeutic means to understand their relationship with tenuous identities and shed light on the complexities that exist within their mental and emotional landscape.
