“’Small Bill’ is a self-portrait meant to encapsulate much of the confidence I’ve gained as a trans man since going on testosterone a little over a year ago. I didn’t use to be someone who made art of myself often, but now that I’ve had the opportunity to express myself with my body in a new way, I’ve found that practice to be a lot more appealing.”
ARTIST BIO: Bill Owens is a student at the Art Academy of Cincinnati with a focus in print media. While not all of his work is directly related to his experience as a queer man, parts of his identity still find their way into other pieces.
