“I have written extensively about the pain and loss I suffered because of childhood bullying. My depiction of Sonic and Shadow illustrates that dealing with such challenges can bring out both the good and the bad in anyone. The takeaway from my artwork is that we always have a choice between good or bad.”
ARTIST BIO: Ryan Lee, a V+V artist, is a writer and visual artist who has returned to his artmaking practice after taking off several years during Covid. His preferred media is writing, which he finds therapeutic, and he has been diving into new material experiments in the V+V studios since 2025.
