“In the fall of 2025, I was invited to do a mini-residency in a ceramic studio shared by 30 potters in Ontario, Canada. Tensions between the US and Canadian governments were high at that time, and the residency was an opportunity to meet and make art with my Canadian neighbors. These teapots were made at their studio as a symbol of friendship and hospitality.  My hope is that as artists, we can build bridges -not walls -with our neighbors.”  
ARTIST BIO: Ken Swinson is a multi-disciplinary artist from rural Kentucky. He believes that art transcends languages, borders, and cultures — a tool for building friendships and greater understanding between different people. He is currently the artist-in-residence at the historic Dr. William Goforth house in Old Washington, KY and also maintains a studio at the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati.
