“I came across this case in the course of my research. I believe it belongs in the pantheon of LGBTQIA+ cases from Cincinnati, along with Cincinnati v. Contemporary Arts Center and Obergefell v. Hodges. Municipal courts are indeed “where the rubber hits the road,” as they are the most likely way that citizens experience our legal system.”
ARTIST BIO: Anne Skove is an artist and writer living in her hometown of Cincinnati. She is part of the Cincinnati Book Arts Society.
