“In ‘3W’, I am reflecting on struggles with my adoptive Dad, the one who truly raised me. Through dissecting a note he wrote to me, and stitching together old clothes from him, I kept that familial love alive until we reconnected again. I need you. I see you. I love you.”
ARTIST BIO: Katrina Shafor (b.1999) is an artist, educator, and advocate based in Cincinnati, OH. They received their BA in Community Arts and BS in Art Education from Miami University in 2022, and an MFA in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati in 2024. They specialize in a range of 2D, 3D, and multi-media approaches that include fiber arts, printmaking, and installation. Katrina’s work explores feminine expression and childhood loss in ways of nostalgia and remembrance of a past self. They are currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati and Miami University.
