“I made this work right before the pandemic in undergrad experimenting with different printmaking techniques. I wanted to visually show my identity and give myself permission to make art for my professors who I felt were critiquing through the male gaze.”
ARTIST BIO: Megan Leah Gottfried (b. 1998, USA) is a jewish contemporary painter and fiber artist based in Seattle, Washington. She earned her MFA in Painting and Drawing from Penn State University and has exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States. Her recent solo exhibition venues include the Museum of Museums (WA), Woskob Gallery (PA), and Art Zowie (WA).
