“This painting portrays the Palestinian journey of injustice, displacement, resilience and hope. Emerging from scenes of destruction, ruins, war and displacement, families walk hand in hand toward a future illuminated by faith, dignity and belonging. The kites in the colors of the Palestinian flag, symbolize freedom and the Palestinian spirit that cannot be confined. The Goden dome of the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem represents identity, heritage, and an enduring connection to their homeland. The sunrise illumination behind the dome represents a brighter future and a hope for peace.”
