“‘Dysregulation’ reflects the chaotic push and pull of dysautonomia, the body swinging between under-reaction and overwhelming response. Each colored portrait captures a point on that spectrum: yellow signaling numbness and low engagement, while deep reds embody the intensity of fight, flight, or even freeze as the nervous system misfires.”
ARTIST BIO: Sarah Roszell is a 21 year old figurative oil painter. She is currently enrolled in Northern Kentucky University’s Bachelors of Fine Arts program for painting. Her practice is rooted in her personal experiences with trauma, family dynamics, and a genetic disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Sarah is continuously inspired by the struggles of life and utilizes her passion for creating to build community through shared experiences and emotions.
