“Embroidery is usually considered domestic work instead of a political statement, but it seems clear to me, that in our country, especially now, there is little to no separation between home and politics.”
ARTIST BIO: Su Ready experiments with photo transfers on silk fabrics and stitch them. She finds the combination of textiles, stitching, and photography to be very satisfying. She also combines children’s book bags and toys to make memorials for the children and teachers killed in war. She was child, she was a teacher, she is a woman, and she is compelled to keep the lives of innocents in our consciousness.
