ARTIST BIO: Jesse Kreuzer is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City, currently collaborating with Traven Labotz on a large scale stained-glass window depicting the crisis of a polarized American democracy. His most recent works are densely populated WPA style murals depicting civil unrest. The paintings contemplate the flag and standard bearer as symbols of democracy, progress, and justice, as well as exclusion, oppression and violence. Painted in the street alongside protests and pedestrians, the murals are meant to be understood in the context of the current historical moment.
