“Bill #2 was part of a triptych in my show Self Wealth (2025), which explored the weight of wealth juxtaposed with self worth through an apocalyptic and dystopian lens. The piece is a large distorted American Dollar that shows the oppressive yet fragile nature of currency compared to self image in a capitalist society.”
ARTIST BIO: Payton Combs (b. 2002) is a multimedia artist based in the Greater Cincinnati area, who specializes in printmaking. She received her BA in Studio Arts from Northern Kentucky University (2025). Payton’s’ process addresses the daunting uncertainties of the modern world and how young people are especially impacted. Drawing upon personal experiences and current popular culture, she utilizes printmaking and collage to depict feelings of chaos and instability.
