“My piece threads together deeply entrenched xenophobia and colonized landscaping standards. While many Americans deeply hate AAPI people, they cherish hostas, which are native to northeast Asia, and are sterile to our environment. The ‘made in china’ sticker serves as a commentary on the current rise of the ‘America First’  movement, its hypocrisy and devastating environmental impact.”
