“The Beckjord Generating Station in New Richmond, Ohio, began operation in 1952 and was decommissioned in 2014. I’ve driven by this coal-powered plant for many years, intrigued by its tall stack and mysterious castle-on-the-river vibe. But the power plant was also a major source of air and water pollution. As of May 2021, most of this structure has been demolished.”
