“Just before the shutdown I had time alone in Memorial Hall to capture its silent beauty.”

ARTIST BIO: With all the fear and uncertainty that have come from this pandemic, with the ongoing political unrest, social inequality, financial insecurity, concern for his family’s health, and general anxiety of the unknown, a serene calm has also come to Matt Steffen. The forced hiatus has allowed him to find the quiet, wide-open and tranquil settings, indoors, in nature, in rural and urban places. He is documenting these findings photographically and hopes to continue long after this virus has run its course.
