“A summer sunset gave color to white curtains and I was lucky enough to notice the glow as I walked past the door to my bedroom. What I saw surprised me and I reached for my little Canon camera quickly to catch the moment, then I accepted the challenge of reproducing it. I borrowed the term “bokeh” from photography to distort the focus of the outdoors beyond the window.”
ARTIST BIO: A retired English and Humanities teacher, Donna Hoffman creates colored pencil pieces from her own photographs in and around her home. The pandemic is isolating, thus giving her a micro-view of the space in which she lives and works. Nothing changes yet everything is new.
