“My project is about Polygamy, the act of three or more people being married to each other, which is illegal in the United States. I believe that Polygamy should be legalized everywhere, which is why I made my art seem mournful and depressing. The symbolism I used was flowers to represent two lovers, and a skeleton to represent a third. As the skeleton is reaching for the flowers, they are turning to ash the closer the hand gets. This helps show that the three are not allowed to be together, because their love is illegal. I chose this social justice issue because I believe that as long as relationships are happy and consensual, they should be legal. Love is very important, and should not be any one’s business except those involved in the relationship.”
