“Another view of the Superior Coal Company in Dayton, Kentucky. Coal arrived by train car and was loaded into the silos, then delivered to homes via truck, creating many local jobs. Natural gas became the primary source to heat homes and Superior closed in 1982. The silos are scheduled to be demolished this year after standing for a century.”
