“un/rest celebrates the Black Lives Matters activists and their courage in challenging systems of racist oppression. Against the backdrop of the current, brutal reality for so many Black folks, un/rest embraces the movement’s hope and promise of a more equitable future. Drips, splatters, and lines allude to the streets that serve as places to gather and protest, but also so often the sites of unconscionable, racist harm and death. un/rest sits at this intersection, demanding discomfort, justice, and humanity as we cross the boundary of what is and pursue the possibility of what could be.”
