“Do you feel out of place, no matter where you are or who you’re around? A huge part of understanding ourselves and learning to love ourselves is knowing who we are. In my piece warm colors show the hatred for those openly representing who they are, while the cool colors show the sadness and depression that comes with being trans. A little body dysphoria is depicted on the left side, showing how they try to hide in the hoodie. In today’s age, trans people are being attacked at all angles. The public, the government, even social media are against them. In the bottom right, a trans soldier is being shouted at by a cis soldier, telling them they are who they were born as; same situation with the tennis players in the upper right.”
