“In this society, justice is unable to see the injustices that take place, as the eyes of the Goddess of Justice are blindfolded. Even when a woman witnesses injustice, she is often forced to remain silent, pretending as though she neither sees nor hears it. Mistakes and crimes are often initiated and learned at a very young age within society. Therefore, I have depicted a young boy drawing eyes over the blindfold of the Goddess of Justice. The boy is unable to remove the blindfold himself, so he attempts to create new eyes through his drawing. This artwork symbolises the younger generation’s desire to see the truth and correct the wrongs that society chooses to ignore. For the eyes meant to see injustice — why is there a blindfold at all?”
