“The lotus is a symbol of peace and is also the national flower of India; therefore, I have included it in my painting. If peace is given to the bud of a lotus, it will bloom. I imagine the lotus as a human being, and its petals represent different parts of human life. The butterfly shown in the painting is the Blue Mormon, which represents peace. The girl within the butterfly symbolises Mother Earth. She closes her eyes peacefully, showing calmness and relaxation. The beam balance represents equal justice for all, without any discrimination. The white dots on the wings of the butterfly symbolise peace and silence. If peace is disturbed, justice helps to restore it. Through all these elements, the theme of my painting is Peace through Justice and Equality.”
