paint on canvas; 16.5×11.5”
“This painting shows a world consumed by fire and war. At the centre stands a baby who knows only peace, untouched by the violence surrounding it. In the background, a woman rises silently, her head transformed into a single red rose. She represents motherhood, sacrifice, and silent suffering, while the rose symbolises love, loss, and hope. Together, the child and the woman remind us that even in destruction, peace is born from love and carried through sacrifice. Above the baby appears the dove of peace. Picasso’s dove became a universal symbol of peace, carrying hope beyond war and conflict. Through this symbol, Picasso reminded the world that peace is both fragile and powerful.
Even in darkness, a seed of peace can grow—from even the smallest soul.”
