“Through study of the work of Swoon, Kathë Kollwitz, and Elizabeth Catlett Mora, and under the guidance of art teacher Jeanine Boutiere, students were encouraged to consider a corner of their world, their daily experience, where they feel empathy for someone else, for a larger group, or for a cause. They were challenged to identify and amplify a simple graphic message that could bring attention to a cause of their choice, and be a call to action toward a more just world.”
