“Under the guidance of art teacher Matt Reed, students at Princeton High School studied the work of Keith Haring, an artist known for using simple cartoons to communicate with the viewer. The students were asked to create something with a positive message or to address a social issue with their art. They used white and red on black to emulate Haring’s subway drawings and some of his paintings. The project gave the students a better understanding of how art can be used as a vehicle for personal or political expression.”
