“Climate change is the greatest threat to humanity. Growing up with environmental scientists as parents, I’ve developed a deep connection to the Earth and a sense of urgency about its condition. My artwork features a clock showing 11:58:30, a rising graph, and the words “FOUR YEARS” — referencing the Doomsday Clock and scientists’ estimate that we have four years before climate damage becomes irreversible. The graph highlights the increase in global temperatures since climate change became urgent. The black background reflects the dark nature of the topic, and the empty space mimics Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work, avoiding cliché imagery like smog or dead animals. The bold text, inspired by Barbara Kruger, emphasizes urgency. Through simple, striking visuals, my piece educates viewers about climate change, aiming to raise awareness of the issue’s severity.”
