watercolor and Ink; 20×16″
“Do you have a mom, daughter, sister, or know any other women in your life? I know I do and that’s why I chose to do my project on women’s rights. My art piece shows a collage of signs promoting women’s rights, and a book that says don’t push religion. I went for a more rustic look and used watercolor and ink, when using the watercolor I didn’t use a lot of water so the paper looked more old and tired. This subject is so important to me because someone close to me had a medical emergency and had to have a procedure done in order for her to be with us right now and if the laws changed before that i don’t know if i’d still be able to see her right now. This is why I know why we need to keep laws off our body.”
ARTIST BIO: Tiaonna RANGE is a grade 11 student at Butler Tech School of Art studying art under art teacher Mary Catherine Ruby.
