“Under the guidance of art teacher Samantha England 8th grade students at Summit Counntry Day learned about the painting “Woman In Gold,” by Gustav Klimt, and Maria Altmann’s fight to get her family painting returned after it was stolen by the Nazis. Students were challenged to choose a person they found inspirational to represent in their scratch art. They illustrated around their person including pattern work inspired by the work of Klimt.”
