“This piece draws awareness towards how children often deal with trauma. Instead of processing their trauma, they often block out the real with fake scenarios that make the incident seem better; evidenced in the colorful, child-like fish versus the dark, sickly-looking fish. This brings awareness towards this common coping mechanism that hides the truth of the situation.”
