“Have you ever considered how much you care about your body’s health? Loving your body for what it is can be hard. People’s words can affect our bodies and result in stress. My art piece is about eating disorders, like anorexia and bulimia. My drawing reflects an experience from my past; it shows a figure breaking the freedom barrier. We’ve all been in situations where we feel isolated with no one else, so why let that also happen to someone who’s only seeking help?”
ARTIST BIO: Kaydence McKinney is a grade 11 student at Butler Tech School of Art studying art under art teacher Mary Catherine Ruby.
