This project is a collaboration of learning with my Government instructor Mrs. Folz and my Visual Art and Design classes with Mrs. Mary Catherine Ruby. I chose to research Amazon deforestation for my project, because I have always been against deforestation and I think it’s so important that we know what is happening in our world and how it can affect us and the world around us. This topic is very important to me because deforestation doesn’t just affect the environment, but all the living things that rely on the environment as well, including us. The Amazon is one of the biggest rainforests in the world, and if we just allow deforestation to continue there, it will leave a big impact on the entire Earth. We need trees to survive, as they turn carbon dioxide into oxygen that we breathe. Many endangered species live in the Amazon as well, including species that are specific to the Amazon. If deforestation continues, these plants and animals will go extinct, and there’s no coming back from extinction. If we want to leave this world better than it is now, then deforestation needs to stop.
