“The topic of my art piece is Sciences vs Religion, a topic usually not discussed in school education. Evolution, for instance, may not be taught due to people’s religious beliefs. Most scientists believe that humans branched off from a common ancestor, like a chimpanzee, 6 million years ago. I drew a person with no face or skin tone as this problem is widely spread. A shield is prohibiting ideas from getting to the person. The book symbolizes the knowledge being given to the person but being rejected. I chose evolution vs religion because every person should have the option to learn about evolution. Religion shouldn’t impact people’s intelligence.”
