colored pencil, ink; 16×20”
I was inspired by making art when I first saw animations on YouTube and anime. My passion is to make animations on YouTube or become a drawing artist for an anime series. My strengths are me being a hard worker and wanting nothing more for room of improvement. This project is a collaboration of learning from my government class with Mrs. Valerie Folz and and my Visual art and design class with Mrs. Mary Catherine Ruby. Through my research I learned that it had a huge impact during the Covid pandemic. The 61% of college students from Harvard who dropped out are because of pregnancy, supporting the baby, and getting a job. The key moment is when everyone was at home because of the coronavirus. Some people lost their jobs because of it. The dad who is still deciding, which one will do more damage? The bills? Or the stress of taking care of the family? On the house is stippling. Stippling is when you make a series of dots to create a pattern of your piece. On the fence is hatching. Hatching is when you make a bunch of scribbled lines that match up with each other. I made this piece with colored pencil and ink. The tactics I used were hatching and stippling to make the items in my piece more realistic.
