acrylic painting; 11×16”
“Some people may not be very well suited for the rain. Can you try to understand their situation, by putting yourself in their shoes? This art piece is meant to convey the fact that we should try to empathize more with those who are in difficult times or situations. I chose to use empathy as my theme for this piece because I believe empathy is crucial, and that the ability to empathize will allow us to have a deeper understanding of what it means to be grateful for what we have and don’t have, and to connect with others. Lack of empathy can show someone that you don’t care, causing them to feel unimportant and unseen.”
ARTIST BIO: Jasa Daniels is a grade 11 student at Mount Notre Dame studying art under art teacher Denise Scharf.
