“This piece reflects on the systemic violence faced by the Queer community. The Mandorla in the background references religious artworks and how the suffering of my community can often be attributed to “sinful” nature or as divine retribution by God even though we are just trying to survive and thrive. The red yarn draws the eyes and symbolizes the gore faced by countless Queer people and creates lasting visual imagery.”
