white and red prismacolor pencil on black paper; 12×18”
“Working under the guidance of art teacher Matt Reed, Princeton HS students grades 9 to 12 studied the work of Keith Haring, an artist known for using simple cartoons to communicate with the viewer. They were asked to draw something with a positive message or to address a social issue with their art. They used white and red colored pencils on black paper, similar to the color scheme in some of Haring’s pieces. The project gave the students a better understanding of how art can be used as a vehicle for personal or political expression.”
