“I created “Stinging Nettle” using procreate. Its message regards the ravages of society on the natural world. Representative of the environment is the main subject, Nettle, a spirit of the forest who faces the agony of its home being destroyed to make room for our ever growing need to expand our businesses and lives, represented by the arrows piercing its flesh. The face of the spirit has already been permanently disfigured, covered by a skull mask to hide its damaged form. Seeping from its wounds are the neon drips of chemical waste, flowing back into the world.”
