“I have read many stories about the wrongfully convicted…The book “Just Mercy” inspired me to do more research in the injustice within the Justice system. I came across the story of Adnan Syed and was inspired to illustrate his story. He was wrongly convicted of murder for 23 years but he maintained his innocence in jail. DNA evidence proved his innocence and he was released in 2022. I continue to study and support reform of the Justice system to limit bias and result in fairer trials in the future.”
