“I think sometimes humans take our world for granted and think of ourselves to be superior to animals. Humans are inherently selfish, as are most animal species, but that is not a bad thing. Our selfish nature comes from our need for self-preservation. I feel it is my duty as a civilian to help the animals that are unable to help themselves now that humans are in a position where we are able to help. I have always loved animals of all kind and find pleasure in doing things that will benefit our ecosystem. Over 90% of species going extinct right now are a result of human activity. I am responsible to at least try to help these animals since it is my ancestors that drove them to endangerment in the first place.”
