“Every prominent person deserves special treatment to be protected, and hawkers are escorted anywhere they go.”
ARTIST BIO: Meshack Okeyo was born 1994 in Homa Bay county, Kenya. His first exposures to art were his father’s cartoon sketches, fashion outfit drawings by his mom and his grandmother’s basketry skills. Growing up, he was frequently chosen to draw diagrams for classes that required illustrations like Science and Social Studies. After high school, he spent his 4 month break to create art. He joined the school of arts and specialized in graphic design.
Since January 2024, he has been a full time artist creating art every day. Meshack has done
commissions for Kevlar International Properties’ offices in Dubai and Kenya, and a mural art for 5 largebuildings for Welt-hunger Hilfe (WHH), a German NGO.
He founded #SketchesofTheWeek254, an Instagram avenue he uses to educate and share art related knowledge.
