Exaggerated forms, warped perspectives and bold clashing colors convey emotional intensity.”
ARTIST BIO: Born in 2001, James Mwangi (Sir_jeey) is a graduate from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, where he studied art and design. He is a self taught mixed media artist based in Nairobi, Kenya and began his professional art journey in 2022.
To Sir_jeey, art is more than just a representation; it is a way to express his ideas and feelings and a reflection of his experiences, of what he can see and remember. For him, art is the truth and anything else is a lie. Sir_jeey has participated in group exhibitions at the National museum of Kenya, International School of Kenya Friends of the Art (FOTA), Akka project, McKinsey, and One off Contemporary Art gallery. His work has been exhibited widely, in Kenya and abroad, and is in many private and public collections.
