“Talks about all the creatives who can’t earn from their art so they opt to finding a job to take care of their financial needs.”
ARTIST BIO: Anthony Damini is a dynamic abstract expressionist artist from the Kibera slums of Nairobi, Kenya. His fascination with art began early, finding inspiration and materials in his challenging environment. His work is a powerful synthesis of influence, drawing boldness and deconstructed form from Pablo Picasso, and raw, layered, street-art energy from Jean-Michel Basquiat. Anthony’s paintings are vibrant, frenetic emotional landscapes that translate the chaos, resilience, and unique energy of Kibera into a universally resonant abstract language. They also connect the contemporary African narrative to the global art world.
