ARTIST BIO: Ato Malinda, born 1981, is a multi-disciplinary, Smithsonian-award-winning visual artist. Also a writer, she sees creativity as a means to political progress and social representation. Malinda has participated in numerous exhibitions, residencies and fellowships in Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. She holds a Master’s of Fine Art from Plymouth University and Transart Institute. She lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya.
