ARTIST BIO: Eugene Miera is a 26-year-old Kenyan artist from Watamu, currently based in Nairobi. A 2022 graduate of the Buru Buru Institute of Fine Art, he is renowned for his meticulous black and white stippling technique. Eugene’s art is deeply rooted in his African heritage, aiming to revive forgotten cultural narratives and traditions through intricate dot work. Inspired by his grandmother’s legacy, his practice captures the essence of aging, history, and the timeless beauty of African customs. Eugene immerses himself in diverse African landscapes to portray the unique spirit of its people, sharing these profound stories with a global audience.
