ARTIST BIO: Born in 1994, Mutune Waweru is a Kenyan based artist and a graduate of Buruburu institute of Fine Arts. He is the founder of Nyakati Art studio and co-founder of Fanisi artist studio, Nairobi. The inspiration for his art springs from his desire to communicate his emotional experiences to the viewers using his observation and imagination. His style is semi-realistic, coordinated with abstract forms. Mutune is an award winner of Safaricom calendar 2019 in Kenya, MASK PRIZE Award [mixed media category] 2019, and his works have been exhibited widely in Kenya and abroad. They are part of many private collections.
