“In ‘Here’s My Femininity,’ two hands extend breadfruit, offering vulnerability. Black women rarely get the freedom to be seen as gentle. Negative stereotypes misread our actions, bodies and neglect to acknowledge our femininity. This piece confronts those injustices, demanding recognition of Black women’s humanity and challenging the social and cultural structures that continue to misread and restrict us.”
